July 04 World Cup
The 2006 FIFA World Cup has finally come down to this: Italy vs. Germany (today), and France vs. Portugal (tomorrow). I'm not too crazy about the teams in todays match. I'm more excited for France vs. Portugal, to see Zidane and Ronaldo. I'll be happy for whichever team that wins tomorrow, but I think it would be nice to see Portugal to win the cup for the first time, this year.
July 03 Happy 139thI don't know about you guys, but I had an alright Canada Day. I saw Superman Returns and then went out for sushi at Mikado. The movie was pretty good - but, not having seen the other ones (sadly

June 30 World CupThis post is coming late, as the world cup is already more than half over. It's been great to come home and watchsome great soccer, although most of them happened during school
The Brazilians are fun to watch - they've got kickass skill. But I'd rather see someone else win the cup. Of the teams left, I'm cheering for England and Portugal, although they face each other tomorrow and one of them will have to go home. The team I would've really loved to see is Australia in the quarterfinals, but that won't be happening this year. Of all the players, I've really fallen in love with David Beckham (England), Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) and Harry Kewell (Australia). I hope either Beckham or Ronaldo will get the cup at the end of the tournament.

Yesterday, in the cancer causing rays of the sun, was the Ottewell track meet. It was fun, except that it was pretty hot and a lot of people (myself included) got burnt. I did fairly good - I got 2nd place in shotput, 1st place in the 4x100m relay and 2nd place in 800m. I'm usually the best at 800 m, and I usually don't feel that bad after it but when I ran it that time I felt really sick. So I was kinda mad that I got second because I know that on a good day I would have won. I'm glad that I atleast get to miss school and compete in zones because I got in the top 4 for both 800 m and shotput. I just hope that it won't be as hot.
I'll leave it at that for now.
Alanna ![]() May 01 Feelin' Way Too Damn GoodThis evening's been pretty wicked, a lot of good stuff happened for a change. Both the Oilers and my soccer team won your games, and I got my Clover Bar acceptance letter. Read on below for details....
Unlike last season, this outdoor season I am playing for community league because KC Trojans decided not to make a U-14 team this year and I missed the tryouts for the other club teams. I guess it's a bit of a relief to be playing on community because they don't push you so hard and it's easier, but at the same time 90% of the players have no skill, and it's really frustrating. So on our first game today when I was supposed to be playing forward, I pretty much ended up playing midfield because the assigned midfields weren't doing their job and I ended up doing most of the work. In the end, we won 3-2. It was a pretty cold game - the wind was strong and it started sprinkling a little. I'm glad we won, or else running and freezing our butts off would've been pointless, and I would've been pretty bitter. ![]()
At the same time our soccer game was going, the Oilers won the series against Detroit. I didn't get a chance to actually see the game, but I heard the last bit on the radio. Now we'll just have to see who were up against next. As much as I would like to see the Battle of Alberta, I would love to see the Flames lose in the first round.
Opening my letter from Clover Bar really put the icing on the cake today. YES!!!!! I'm officially LEAVING for Clover Bar in grade 8, unless by some freak turn of events the world turns on me. I'll finally be able to leave Ottewell behind me and find my place where I really belong. Anyway, I am so damn happy today almost nothing can change my mood.
That's where the good news ends for today. See ya 'round.

April 28 I Say, Don't You KnowNothing really interesting I came here to blog about. But it's been awhile since the last time, so I thought I'd write about something anyway - because that's just the way I am.
Well lots of people have been pretty hyped up here, cheering on the Oilers in the playoffs. I'm not much of a hockey fan, but still, I can't help but get in on the action and cheer them on. Kick ass in the playoffs, Oilers!!!!
Which brings me to my second topic: Franz Ferdinand. On Tuesday, while I sat on the couch and watched the game the Oilers won against the Wings, Franz Ferdinand was in E-town with Death Cab for Cutie. I soo wanted to be there instead! They're my favourite band right now. I'm pretty pissed that I didn't see them, especially Nick McCarthy The other day my brother bought Brain Age (for the DS). If you're into video games then you've probably heard of it, but the majority of the people reading this probably aren't. Well anyway, it's this game that's pretty much supposed keep your brain sharp by having you do these puzzle type things. It's kinda fun and addicting, but I've played better games.
I can't think of much else to bore you guys with, so I guess this is it for now.

April 16
Hey everyone,Just popped on to wish everyone a happy Easter Sunday. Did you get lots of candy? I know I did!
Enjoy the rest of your long weekend,
Alanna ![]() April 10 I want to wad you up into my life....
Not too much happening at the moment. If only Spring Break could've lasted forever, life would be much simpler. But time must go on.
This past week, as I said, not too much happened. The only highlight was going to the Cloverbar open house, which was pretty pointless since I went to the one last year, but atleast I got to see some of my old friends again - Rheid, Imaan, Carley and Sam. Pretty much everyone I know at Cloverbar knows that I will probably be going there next year, something I haven't mentioned yet on my space or to most people at Ottewell. Not like they would really care. Anyway, I better make it into their honours program. With my 93% average, how could I not?
Since there's not much else to talk about, I'll talk about my spring break (even though it happened awhile ago). Well Nicole and I went to Sunshine Village, which was pretty wicked. What sucked is that we got there late, so we only got in one day of skiing. Still, it was better then nothing. It is so fun and nice up there that you want to stay forever. I'd probably go again before the skiing season is out up there, but my moms van sucks and we have to get a new car soon. Also, my brother has to use it to get to work since he crashed his own car pretty bad 3 weeks ago. Car shopping is at the top of the list of things to do.
Another highlight - Thom got Me and my Katamari (for PSP), so that was one of the things I spent a lot of my time playing during the break. It's not much different from the ones before it, but its great 'cause now I can take Katamari anywhere. Gotta love it!
That's it for now. Sign my g-book, g-map or leave a comment before you leave.
A!anna
P.S - If your confused about the title, buy a Katamari game and play it on your PS2 or PSP - you'll get it.
If you want to see more Katamari icons, scroll down the page and look at one of my earlier entries. Gosh, so much has been happening lately. Well, actually there's always a lot going on. But I feel run down and everything is just sorta....happening, and it's like I don't have time to even think about it. Ok, that didn't really make sense. But the point that I'm trying to get at is, I really need spring break to come. I could reeeaally use a break from school.
Oh, and I also can't wait until spring break because Nicole and I are going snowboarding in the mountains! It's going to be a riot, and it should be just the thing I need to relax.
Random Stuff:
Well that's it for now. Gotta survive one more week until Spring Break... Alanna
February 27 Let's go back to elementary...
I miss my old school. Well, not so much the school, but the people I went to school with and...just elementary in general. First of all, I miss my old best friends - Imaan, Carley and Nicole. We had so much fun together, no one at Ottewell could ever replace you guys or come close to your 'greatness'. Also, elementary was just a lot easier. This week, for example, is a short week (teacher's convention on Thurs., Fri - YAY!). But we have to write 5 tests! We never had that many tests back in elementary. Lots more homework, too. If this is how it is now, I can't even begin to think of how big the workload will be in high school and University....
Well, I gotta go. There's more I would like to write about, but I have a socer practice soon. I'll blog more when I get a chance.
Alanna
February 18 It's been awhile, and there is a lot I want to blog about. Well, lets start with the chocolate buffet I talked about in my last blog.... Gosh, I don't think I have ever eaten so much chocolate at a time! There were about 5 different cakes, a fondue, fruit and some other stuff to eat. It was simply delicious. I ate a lot, and I actually felt a little sick of chocolate afterwards. My stomach was just so full and the chocolate was so rich...it was like death by chocolate. Saturday (last) was the regional speech tournament. I thought I actually did good, and better than a few other people I was against, but I got last. Again. It makes me think "Am I really that bad?". I'm not sure if I'll want to compete again next year.
Not much happened this Valentines. At school they were selling secret Valentines a few days earlier and they handed them all out on Tuesday. Not surprisingly, I didn't get one. I was playing with the idea of sending an anonymous one to *him*, but decided not to. I think he already has a girlfriend anyway. I wish I could just let go of these feelings. But its just not that easy....
It's a 3 day weekend, because Family Day is on Monday. It seems like I haven't had a break from school for so long! I'm sure most of us feel that way, but do you know what is totally unfair?!? The people in Sherwood Park have more than double the holidays than us! Well, I don't know the official numbers, but my friends in Sherwood Park are always telling me how they are always having several holidays each month. Sooo unfair. I totally wish I lived in Sherwood Park, because I would be going to Cloverbar right now with my best friends and having more school days off. Well, enjoy your long weekend while it lasts. It'll be gone so quick, you won't even know it came.
February 10 My Birthday!!!So I went to the dance yesterday. And he was dancing with another azn. I guess it was to be expected, and it's not like something would've actually happened, but still, it's just hard to see that. Ugh, sometimes I annoy myself....I let my hopes get up too high when the circumstances aren't even realistic. 'Nuff said.
And on to the real news of today... *drumroll* It's finally my birthday! I've officially turned 13. Tonight my mom and I are going to a chocolate buffet. It should be really yummy, because I
Tomorrow is the regional speech competition. It should go way better than it did last time, where I completely screwed up. I'm in prose this time, along with 8 other people.
See you later!
Alanna
P.S - The Winter Olympics start today. Here's an icon in honour of it
February 08 My birthday is coming up. Yup, I'll be turning 13. Gone are the years of childhood and here are the days of being a teenager. Lol, I was trying to sound like I've become wiser, but my attempt has failed. Inside I still feel like a kid! Well, apart of me feels like I want to stay a kid forever but another wants to just breeze through school and get a job. I'll officially be a teenager February 10. Be sure to wish me a Happy Birthday!
My brother gave me apart of his present to me a little early. He got me this awesome game on PS2 called Guitar Hero! It's wicked, you use this guitar as a controller and you have to play it when the notes go by. The songs are cool and I play it all the time.
Tomorrow is Touch of Class day, and we're encouraged to dress up nice. There's also the Valentine's Dance after school. I'm hoping that a "certain someone" will ask me to dance. But that person is in grade 9...so uh, I'm not holding my breath. It's pretty unlikely that they'll ask, but it's someone that I atleast have a chance with.
I'm gonna go play Guitar Hero. I'll write more soon.

January 28 Chinese New Year
The year of the dog starts tomorrow - Chinese New Year! There's usually lots of relatives to see and suppers to have, but this year we aren't doing anything at all! I'm sort of glad, 'cause that leaves more time to relax. Anyway, Monday is a PD Day so I'm going skiing with Cece. I haven't been out on the hills yet this winter, so it should be fun.
![]() ![]() This morning the furnace broke down, and its started to get really cold...it was only 15 degrees for like 4 hours!!! I stayed snuggled in bed all morning because atleast it was warm in there - that is, when I used my hair dryer to warm me up (Lol, I know). Eventually someone came in and fixed it and it got really warm again. I was sooo glad.
Some other stuff hapened earlier this week too, so I'll backtrack a bit. Last week I competed in the CanSpell Spelling Bee to represent Ottewell. Last year I got to represent my other school, New Horizons. But this year I finished third out of approximately 450 students in grades 7 and 8. I also competed in the Great Canadian Geography Challenge. I placed in the top 10, so we have to write another test to determine the top 3 in Ottewell this Wednesday and then those 3 will write another test to determine the best at Ottewell. I doubt I'll make it though, because I don't want to study really hard and plus Scott, Thomas and Alison, who did so much better than me on the first 2 tests will probably make the top 3 anyway. I will study hard next year though.
We got the official results back from the speech competition a few weeks ago. Ugh, just the memory of it makes me cringe. Priscilla and I got last, just as I thought we would. But it surprised me that the judges thought we did better than Scott and Stephen in the first round. But obviously, forgetting my lines in the second round brought our score down (well up actually, because the more points you have the worse you did). Anyway, the regional speech competition is being held on February 11 (the day after my birthday). I'll be doing prose this time, which I think I will be able to do a lot better in.
I will blog again when I get a some more spare time. Have a happy Chinese New Year!

P.S - A better, sleeker version of the Nintendo DS - Nintendo DS Lite will be released in Japan in March. Here's a pic of the newest addition to my wishlist:
January 21 Naaaanananananana Katamari Damacy!I've been in the mood for Katamari Damacy lately so I thought I'd post some icons. I soooo want to get We <3 Katamari, but we'll probably just wait until the one for the PSP comes out. Can't wait!!!
Please save these to your own server, don't copy and paste! January 20
Last week I got sick again, but it was mainly just a cough this time. I would've skipped a couple days of school if I didn't have to practice for a speech competition I signed up for before Christmas (bad idea). I was in duet acting with Priscilla and we only found our skit and started practicing 3 days before the competition so I knew we weren't going to win a medal, but that the experience would be good for future competitions.
We had to perform our piece 2 times in front of different judges. There were 4 other teams there, and they were so good! They were in grade 9 though, but still, they made us look horrible(not that we were actually ok by anyone's standards). The first time I did ok, but the second time i forgot my line 3 times! It was definitely not the first impression I wanted to leave on the grade 9s at Ottewell. I'll have to be way more prepared next time!
On a different subject - my brother got a 20th edition Game Boy Micro earlier last week. I know the games are old on it, but its still pretty cool 'cause it's really small. I've been playing Mario tennis power tour on it all week!
Nothing interesting really happened this week. Later!

January 08
I saw several movies this week: Wallace and Gromit - The Curse of the Were-rabbit (in the cheap theatres), The Chronicles of Narnia and King Kong.
Wallace and Gromit was ok, there were some funny parts but also some boring ones. The little bunnies were so cute though!
My brother hasn't seen the new Harry Potter yet, so my mom and I were going to take him to see it at the Imax. We got there a little late though, so we saw The Chronicles of Narnia instead. It was pretty good and I enjoyed it a lot, but Harry Potter was definitely better.
I saw King Kong with my brother and dad. It was so awesome! I definitely want to see it again. It was pretty long (3 hrs!) but every minute of it was really exciting. King Kong and Harry Potter are my favourite movies of 2005.
Yesterday night I watched the original King Kong with my dad. I guess it was good for a movie that came out in 1933, but I thought it was a little boring. But you should definitely see Peter Jackson's remake.
I went shopping yesterday at West Ed. I went to a lot of clothes stores but there wasn't anything that great, so I didn't end up getting any clothes. I guess stuff has been picked through and bought out from Boxing Day. But I got these kick-ass Von Dutch boots though - well, they're not really boots. They look like that from the back but they really don't have any insulation.
Oh, and something else I have forgotten to mention since Christmas - my brother got my mom satellite radio for Christmas (he got me a 4 gb iPod Nano). We have it set up inside the house instead of in the car, so we listen to it a lot. It's pretty wicked awesome.
So that's that. My winter holidays are over; it's back to school. I did have a pretty good Christmas though. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! January 03 It's all back to normal now.......
December 29 Another Christmas Come and Past...The cold I mentioned a while back got even worse. I went to see the doctor, and they said I had tonsilitis and a resperatory tract infection. So I got the medicine for that, but I didn't get better right away. The 2 days leading up to Christmas, I lied in bed all day and only got up about 3 times for 10 minutes to get something to eat. I couldn't talk either, it was just horrible! Things got a little better on Christmas Day, I did have enough energy to open my presents and go over to my cousin's and grandma's house. After that, I got a lot better and now I'm barely sick at all. I missed 2 of 3 soccer games my team is playing in the Polar Cup, but today I'm going to play in the third.
This Christmas was great, but it seemed like my favourite time of year went by too quickly. It was a shame I had to be sick! I had a good time though. From my dad I got the complete Calvin and Hobbes collection and a puzzle (my dad and I are puzzle fans and we always get one to do over the holidays); from my brother a 4 gb iPod Nano (he gave it to me earlier in December); and from my mom I got a whole bunch of smaller stuff...including chocolate(yummm)!! In the afternoon I went over to my cousin's for brunch, got some money and worked on a puzzle of the world. In the evening I went over to my grandma and grandpa's house for supper. Before I knew it, it was already the end of the day and time for bed.
The best part of the holidays may be over, but 2006 is approaching and I still get another week and a half home from school. I should get ready for the soccer game this afternoon.
Alanna ![]() December 21 It's Officially Winter! You heard what I said - it's officially winter! It's a lot warmer than it was last year around this time. There's barely any snow on the ground! I know a lot of people like this weather, but the holidays just aren't the same without the cold and snow.
Yesterday I came down with a nasty cold, so today I didn't go to school. My throat hurts and talking makes it worse. I'm kind of screwed though because we have a science unit test tomorrow, and the teacher hasn't even gone through the whole unit yet. She doesn't know how to teach or budget her time wisely, and we're all mad at her because she is rushing through all the material. Atleast I have my textbook with me, but reading it through myself isn't as good as if she had actually taken the time to explain it.
Well have a good Wednesday. I'm really tired, so I'm off to bed.
P.S - More Icons
December 18 Gosh, I had a pretty stressful morning and afternoon. Today was our Christmas violin recital, and I always get freaked out and nervous whenever I have to play by myself in front of a lot of people because I think I'll screw up. I practiced for about 2 hours in the morning and the recital was at 2. My performance went about as good as I expected - my knees were shaking like crazy but I played the notes flawlessly. I was so relieved when it was over and I could finally relax again; it felt like a tremendous weight was lifted off my shoulders. Yay - no more violin lessons until 2006! Christmas and New Year's are just around the corner, yet it feels like it's still so far away.
I went to Stitches yesterday, something I forgot to mention in my last blog. I like shopping at West Ed. Mall, which is on the other side of the city, but Stitches is my favourite place to go for clothes because it's real close. I picked up and awesome shirt and skirt, and some presents for my cousin and a secret santa exchange.
I'm going to go wrap some Christmas presents now. Take care and happy Sunday!
P.S - Here are some more Christmas icons:

Remember to save these pictures, don't copy and paste! December 15 Dance CompetitionIn gym we have been doing partner and line dancing for about a month, and today we had a dance competition for all the grade sevens. At the beginning of the dance unit I never thought I would say this, but it was actually fun! Well no, it wasn't exactly fun (I'm not a dancing type of person), but all that candy made me really want to go crazy and win. For each dance, the teachers awarded the top 3 groups with coupons for the snack shack and throughout the dances there were people handing out candy to enthusiastic people. I got 2 coupons, one for a slush and another for pizza and of course, lots of candy.
The competition was in the afternoon during science, which was good 'cause we really hate our science teacher, Mrs. Skoreyko but it's bad because we are behind in science, and she has been rushing through the chapters in the textbook without explaining much. Our class is kinda screwed, we're probably going to do bad on our quiz tomorrow and our unit exam on Wednesday because she went through the material too fast. I dread the coming week, on top of the science we have a lot of other projects and tests to do before Christmas.
I'll post some more christmas pics and icons when I get some more time(probably tomorrow afternoon). Take care,
Alanna December 14 Here's some awesome Christmas msn pics I thought you might all enjoy. Save to your computer, don't copy and paste!
Come back for more, I'll be posting more later! Be sure to sign the guestbook and guestmap! December 08 Go Me! Hat Trick! On Tuesday we had a soccer game. I am on KC Trojans still, but our indoor team sucks, half the people are pretty good but the other half have dragged us down to the bottom of our standings...until Tuesday that is! We were against the other team in our division at the bottom of the standings. I thought we were pretty bad; turns out they are even worse! We finally won a game, 8-2 and now we are second last in the standings.
I did a hat trick! Scored three of the goals...although technically I only scored 1 of them because on the first one I shot at the net, the defender got it, passed it to the goalie and went in, and the second one went off of the goalie before it went in. Oh well, it still counts though because I was the last one on my team to touch the ball. I've scored 4 out of the teams 15 goals this season so far.
I have a soccer practice tonight. Bye for now! Remember to sign the guestbook and the guestmap!
Alanna November 24 Wow.Yesterday I saw Harry Potter again. Although I saw it on Friday, I was really excited to see it again because it was so great! It was just as incredible as it was seeing the first time. There are amazing special effects, the acting performances by Daniel, Emma and Rupert were great and many scenes were hilarious!
I was also dissapointed with certain parts of the movie though, comparing it to the book. Some parts seemed rushed, I know that they can't put in every detail but they took out too much and included some things that weren't necessary. Director Mike Newell WAS given the chance to make Goblet of Fire into 2 movies, which would've satisfied me and a lot of other Harry Potter fans out there. I was also dissapointed with Michael Gambon's performance as Dumbledore. He is a calm man in the books, but in the movie he portrayed him to be edgy and spastic.
I don't agree with some things they did in the movie, but overall I think Goblet of Fire is the best in the series so far. I definitely want to/will see it again in theatres! November 18 Harry Potter IV!Well right now I'm at my mom's work making some money by clearing up some odd jobs around the pharmacy. But my mom's busy talking to someone right now so I have nothing to do. OMG, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is out today!!! I am so damn excited, I've been waiting for it to come out since forever! For the past 3 HP movies I skipped school to see them on opening day (before the evening, before the large crowds of kids were out of school). Unfortunately, today I couldn't do that because my mom couldn't get a day off from work. But after we close down the pharmacy we're going to go see it! Yesterday we pre-ordered tickets from the internet, and guess what? They were all sold out and the earliest one after 5 p.m (when my moms off work) we could go to was 9 p.m! Guess I'm not the only excited one out there. Well my mom's finished talking and I have some more work to do. I can't wait; Harry Potter in only 4 and a half more hours! Alanna November 12
Sorry! I meant to write about Halloween like a week ago, but I've been pretty busy...
Monday (Oct 31)
Halloween! My second-favourite time of the year. I went alone, like I always do (to get the maximum amount of candy or course). And guess what? All that running from house to house paid off. I got a record, 25 lbs!! All in just over 2 hours. The bad thing was that I got a blister because I wasn't wearing running shoes...but it was worth it in the end. Mmm...chocolatey goodness....
Remembrance Day (Friday, November 11)
Ugh, yesterday was horrible! We didn't have school because it was Remembrance Day, which was good. But I wasn't feeling very good in the morning, and threw up. I felt really icky and was extremely tired for the rest of the day. What really sucked though was I was gonna have a sleepover at Nicole's house and see Carley, Imaan and Katie (from Cloverbar). I haven't seen them for like 4 months! I suppose there's always next time...
Today I feel a lot better. Kinda pissed that I couldn't see Nicole and them though. Well bye for now!
October 31 Halloween! CANDY! Today!
I think Halloween has to be my second favourite time of the year (right after Christmas). I mean, think about all that CANDY!!!! I'm one of those people who I've got a few things to do before I go, so I will stop for now. Have a Happy Halloween everyone!!!! Get as much candy as you can!!!
October 25 Busy Weekend!
Hey,
I haven't written in awhile. Nothing really exciting has happened. Oh well, I'll tell you about the last while anyway...
On Saturday, my mom and I went to the mall by our house. We were just planning to get some halloween candy and some other stuff, but we actually did a lot more. Turns out Stitches is now in the mall! Finally, there is actually a GOOD close store close to home! I just had to go in. I (well, my mom...) ended up spending $120. Then as we were going to Safeway, there were these people who were doing haircuts for $15. They called it "clip for the cure" and all the money collected went towards cancer research. So I got my hair trimmed and layered. I think my hair looks a lot better now. The cut isn't really all that noticeable (NO one has noticed...) but atleast its not plain and boring anymore.
Sunday was pretty boring. I had homework to do all day. Oh! Which reminds me, a big science project is due in about a week and I haven't started it yet. It was assigned like a month ago and a lot of people have started already, but nope, not me, I'm a procrastinator.
Monday was really boring. I was so happy after school though because I was supposed to have a violin lesson and it got cancelled! Those of you who know me really well, or who have read one of my earlier blogs, know just how much I hate the violin. I was almost bouncing off the walls with happiness because not only will I be missing violin lessons this week but next week also. Bliss!
This week has been going so slow, I am already tired out but it's only Tuesday! Good thing we get an extra hour of sleep this weekend (daylight savings time). I can't wait until Halloween, it's my second favourite day of the year. I still don't know wait I'm going to be yet though. Well, I'll write more closer to Halloween.

October 10
Hello, Today is Thanksgiving in Canada, so I had a day off from school today. Yesterday we went over to a relatives house and had a huge feast. There was so much food! And then desert was awesome, pumpkin pie with whipped cream, cookies, and fruit salad. It was awesome. My baby cousin Benjamin was there too. He is about 18 months old. I Today we are having dinner here with my dad's side of the family in a couple hours. I have to go and help out in the kitchen. Talk to you all later, and have a Happy Thanksgiving! Alanna
October 05
Brr! It's so cold! I just got back from soccer practice, which was held outside. Although I was moving around most of the time, I was still very cold. Hopefully we will start practicing inside...
Well tomorrow I have a science test, so I should go study for it. Alanna
September 22
Violin lessons have started up again. Have I mentioned before how much I HATE the violin?!? I have no idea why my dad continues to force me play. I have complained to him many times and I'd do almost ANYTHING to get him to let me quit. But NOOOOO.....he doesn't give a crap about what I think. So here I am, stuck playing the violin for atleast another 5 years. I don't know how much more I can take of it before I go mad.
Oh yesterday this clipboard fell on my foot - and boy did it ever hurt! There's a big grey bruise on my toe now and it hurts to bend it. Oh well(I guess...) what doesn't kill me only makes me stronger, right?
I have to go do some homework now. I'll write more later.

I found this at Sam's Space. All credit goes to her. September 09 Goodbye Summer, Hello Ottewell
School started last Thursday. Kinda wish summer was still here. If only it could last forever...
Turns out my old friend I went to school with for K-2, Devin, is also in the honours class at Ottewell with me, and Bela and Rebecca, also from Suzuki are in another class. It's so much better knowing someone else who goes to school with you. It has made things a lot easier in the last week.
Well there's really not much else to tell, so I will write more later in the month.

![]() August 22 Only 9 days left!!!!
I just got back from camping in Jasper on Thursday, and since then I've been pretty busy. Camping was fun, but it was raining atleast half the time.
My summer is almost gone, which really sucks. That means I will have to start up my violin lessons again which I hate, I will have to start jr.high at a new school, and, well, school is just a bummer in itself. I wish summer lasted longer. I really don't feel like I'm ready to go back to my regular boring life yet. And I don't feel great about going to a new school because I don't know anybody who goes there. Well I guess it's a good and bad thing because I feel like things weren't going so well with my current friends and this way I'll get to make new ones.
Only 9 days left 'till school starts! I'm totally not ready for summer to end but I guess there's nothing I can do about it.

I haven't had a chance to write in a while. Nothing much happened this week but last week was fun. Here's what happened:
Tuesday
In the evening, my mom, dad and I went to A Taste of Edmonton. We go every year to sample all kinds of food from many restaurants all around Edmonton. The food was delicious.
Thursday
I got a new bike! We've been looking around for one lately, and today we settled on a dark blue one from SportChek. My new bike is a lot bigger than my old bike....I've needed a new one for 2 years now.
Friday
Nicole came over to my house and we went to Klondike Days. It was really fun. I went on the ring of fire/fireball for the first time this year. I wask inda nervous but it was wicked and we went on it again. We also went gold panning and played lots of games. I
Saturday
My mom and I met up with Cecilia at Heritage Days. All the different pavillions were interesting to see and the food was great.
So that was my week. I've been on the computer for awhile now so I should get going.
Alanna July 26
Whew! What a busy week! I haven't had time to update because I was at this camp all week, DiscoverE: Robotics at the University of Alberta. The whole week, we basically just had to build robots out of lego and program them to do things based on what our challenge was for the day. It was pretty cool, but I think that I would've enjoyed one of the other camps better. My friend from Vic, Cecilia was in the camp too and I slept over at her house for 2 nights.
Well, that was basically all I've been up to this week. I can't wait to go to Klondike Days this Friday!
July 15 Berry Fest.
Today, my mom, dad and I went to this place called "Parkberry Fields" to pick strawberries. We've gone there for the past couple years to pick because my dad loves to make jam. I didn't enjoy the bugs (eek!), but the strawberries tasted wonderful.
We weren't planning to pick saskatoons, but they looked so good and we ended up picking a pail of those, too. I couldn't resist eating them by the handful. They were so sweet and juicy! My hands were stained purple after...I wonder why...hehe.
Well, I'm off to eat more saskatoons and strawberries. I can't wait until next time, when the raspberries will be ripe enough to pick. Bye for now, from your berry lover Alanna.
July 12 The Pain!Nothing exciting to blog about. Here my account of the last few days.
Ugh...yesterday I went to the orthodontist and they had to put a new wire in, as usual. Also, as usual, my teeth hurt horribly. I hate braces. They really suck. Why couldn't I have just been born with straight teeth? Life would be a lot easier.
On the weekend I helped my mom unpack boxes in the garage. I know this is pathetic, but we still have like 15 boxes in the garage that haven't been unpacked since we moved into our newly renovated house in 2000.
So that's what I've been up to the last few days. I'll write more the next time there's actually something exciting to update you on. Bye for now,
July 08 Hello,
Today was the last day of tennis lessons. They were super fun and I am glad I finally know how to play tennis the right way. Other than that, not much else happened today. Here are some animations for your enjoyment:
Lol - I love Dance Dance Revolution
Mmmmm.... July 07 Happy (belated) Birthday Nicole!
HAPPY 12th BIRTHDAY NICOLE!!!! Hope you had a wonderful day yesterday, and that you will have a fun roadtrip to California. I will miss talking to you on msn. (Sorry, I had no time to post this yesterday...)
Yesterday I had a soccer game against SouthWest United. I can't believe we actually won! Last time, they beat us 7-0. We beat them 2-1 this time. Nicole (not the Nicole I mentioned above) played really good, she scored our 2 goals.
Well I'm gonna update other things around my space now. Write more later.
July 05
I forgot to mention earlier that it's my brother's birthday!!!! My brother turned 23. Thom, I hope you have a great birthday...and forgive me for not getting you a From your sister, Alanna
Hello all,
Yesterday was horrible. I will tell you about it....
I had tennis lessons from 5-6 p.m. Before yesterday, I had never played tennis before. It is really fun. I have tennis lessons this whole week. Then I had soccer practice. This is the horrible part. The "technical director" of KC, John Pino, ran our practice. God I hate him! He made us run....and run....and run for like an hour straight, then when we didn't do drills right, he would make us do like 10 million sit-ups. It was like torture, I thought I almost died because it was soooo hot and i was tired and he wouldn't let us take a break.
I felt like that pic (lol). Then when I got home I almost couldn't walk, I had to lie down in bed for the rest of the night because I was just so exhausted. I hate him. Well that was my pain of yesterday. I shall go now....

School's...out...for..summer!Summer's here! We finished school on Wednesday. I've been waiting for summer to come, and I thought I would be really happy, but I am actually kinda sad. Like, this is the end of Grade 6 and I will probably never see the people I have gone to school with for the past 2 years again. Not that I especially liked our class, but I will have to get used to other people and stuff at Ottewell.
The last 3 days:
Wednesday
After school on Wednesday, we all went to Adam's house and we had a water fight. I got soaking wet, but it was fun. We also jumped on his awesome trampoline. Then Imaan's dad came and picked us up for Imaan and Carley's birthday. We watched The Notebook. It is sooo good! I
Thursday
In the afternoon, we went to Crankpots Ceramic Studio. I got to paint this box. I put this dragonfly on it and my initials. It looks awesome.
In the evening, I went to Nicole's house. We went to go see Mr. and Mrs.Smith. It was pretty good. I slept over at her house.
Friday - Canada Day!!!
In the morning we walked to Dairy Queen to get ice cream but the lineup was o-mega long so we went to Sobeys and got these aero sundae cups. They were super yummy! Then we we walked through this "prickle bush infected grass" (lol Nicole) to get to the North Saskatchewan River. There was this mini beach-like area and we made mud! I know that probably sounds gay but we had so much fun...I
After our crazy adventure, we went to Commonwealth Stadium for the "Centennial Jam." We saw some city bands peform, as well as the Barenaked Ladies.
That's what's has happened in the last little while. I'm gonna go add stuff to my lists now.

June 27 2 daysI've been adding a lot of things to my space lately without actually writing in my blog. Nothing much is really happening, Ive just been counting down the days that are left of school. I can't wait for summer to come.
Tomorrow we're going to the wilderness centre for the end of the year. It's where we went last year, and it was boring! The only fun thing we did was play this game, predator prey. Why can't we go somewhere fun? I heard other school are going to movies and the waterpark. We always do crappy things at NHS.
Well, I'm not looking forward to tomorrow, but it's one step closer to summer vacation.
Later,
Alanna June 22 5 more days.....Grade 6 is coming to an end...I can't wait for 3 reasons: 1. I like summer vacation; no schoolwork! 2. I can't wait to get away from all but 4 people in our class 3. The sooner school ends, the sooner I can start to forget many horrible memories
Last night was sorta scary. I woke up in the middle of the night because there was ton of thunder, rain, lightning and wind. It took me a long time to get back to sleep. I can't think of anything else to say....I'm sure there is something that I have forgot mentioning but I am too lazy to think. So I shall go now.... Alanna
June 16 ThursdayHello, This week has been boooooooring. We have written a lot of PATs and tests, including this super, super long 10 page French test we wrote today. It was our final and it was sorta hard. I think I did ok, but I'm sure that like half the class failed. There are a lot of incompetent people in our class. On Wednesday (yesterday), we had a soccer game. The Sherwood Park Rangers beat us 7-0. We are a pretty good team, but compared to the other teams in our division, we SUCK. Atleast we're not as bad as the Strikers and Juventus. They are even worse. I have other things to do, so I will be going now. bibi Oh, one more thing. I finally got the letter from Ottewell saying I got into their honours program. So I will not be going to Cloverbar after all. I can't wait to get away from these NHS freaks. lol. Well I will miss some of you...I'm sure you know who you are, but to others, good riddance.
June 12 Silver MedalHello, In the morning, we played a game against Ft. McMurray Fury. We won 1-0, so we got to advance to the gold/silver medal round. In the evening, we were against the same team we played yesterday evening. We lost to them again, so we only got a silver medal. But hey, silver isn't too bad. I am extra sore again today. As much as I like soccer, 4 games in 2 days is killer! I hope I will feel better tomorrow for practice... Argh, I am so exhausted that all I want to do is sleep. But I have to do my crappy I.S (Independent Study)essay because it is due tomorrow. There are like 2 1/2 weeks of school left, but we have to do sooo many things before then. I can't wait until summer break starts.
June 11 I am so sore....Hello... as I write this my legs are about to fall off. This morning we had a soccer game because this weekend is the North Edmonton Soccer Tournament. We won, 2-0. We had another game at 5. Stupid ref didn't show up, so we had to get another one and start the game just after 6. Our team and the other team were pretty evenly matched, but in the end they won 1-0. Coach had me on the entire game, as forward and outside mid. And that is why my legs are soo sore right now. Didn't do much else today. Wait....oh yeah, I forgot, Mom and I made chocolate muffins. They are really good. Well its 9:40 now and I should probably get going. I have another game tomorrow at 11 and possibly another at 2. June 10 Hello ThereHi ya'll, It is Friday...the end of a long n boring week. 14 days of school left!!! In the afternoon, we did art. We are doing soapstone carvings of dolphins. Mine is gonna be awesome This weekend is gonna be exciting because I have a soccer tournament and I Well I've been on the computer since I got out of school so I should really get off now. Bye! Alanna
